Rest assured, I didn't mistake textboxes for listboxes or comboboxes: my error was in my attempt to make my comment as short as possible, as a result of wihich I conflated some aspects and omitted others. I'm also pleased to say that almost all of the rest of your comment is well-known to me. However, the reminder of the autocomplete attribute was useful. Like you, I am conscious of allowing unwise auto-fill options where security or financial data may be involved.
