Backups in this topic specifically refers to database backups.I've got backup of the whole website but I'm not sure if it also contains the database in question or how to locate it there. If I try to search for "phpbb3_forums" it doesn't return anything so it's probably as part of some file that I don't know how to locate.
Check your /store (in the root of your board (where the config.php is)
That could contain the backups of the database you're using (if backups were taken) usually as a .zip but perhaps as .sql
If these concepts are new to you, I strongly suggest you find someone with experience you can trust with your board.
